“Call for Contributions” - Archaeology in the Lead — European Association of Archaeologists (EAA) Athens 2026 EARTH will be at EAA 2026 in Athens and invites presentations for our two sessions! The FIRST one is together with Geosonda (Belgium) and Norwegian Institute for Cultural Heritage Research (NIKU). Our session, “Archaeology in the Lead,” explores how archaeology can move from a reactive role to leading interdisciplinary urban and environmental planning from the earliest stages. The SECOND one is together with the University of Donja Gorica (Montenegro), Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands Our session, Digging sites over and over again: “Evolving Approaches, Visions, and Methodological Insights,” explores how approaches and visions have shifted — from early culture-historical traditions toward interdisciplinary, multi-scalar, and technologically advanced frameworks that increasingly intersect with cultural heritage management and contract archaeology.
